In May 2026, a RUDN delegation led by Rector Oleg A. Yastrebov visited Tsinghua University in Beijing, China – one of the country's most prestigious higher education institutions. During the meeting, the two universities laid the groundwork for partnership in various fields, with a primary focus on medicine and artificial intelligence.

The dialogue continued on our campus on August 1, when RUDN welcomed a group of students from Tsinghua University currently in Moscow as part of Sber's "School 21" program.

The visit was dedicated to digital transformation. The students from Tsinghua had the opportunity to explore Russian IT solutions in medicine and discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on the transformation of the education system in Russia.

The program began with a presentation on RUDN's history, academic programs, and the international environment that defines our university. The students then visited the Research and Education Resource Centre for Immunophenotyping, Digital Spatial Profiling, and Ultrastructural Analysis, followed by a masterclass led by Professor Dmitry Atyakshin, Doctor of Medical Sciences and one of RUDN's leading researchers.

The delegation also toured the Research Institute of Molecular and Cellular Medicine, where they learned about ongoing research projects. Later, at the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, the students were introduced to RUDN's collaboration with School 21 – an initiative focused on digital education and IT skills development. A workshop titled "Local AI Agent: Ollama & RAG" was conducted for the Chinese students.

We were delighted to welcome the students from Tsinghua and are planning to launch regular student exchange programs with this distinguished university.
