Migration Registration and Registration:

• The review of documents / enrollment of foreign citizens applying for full‑time (in‑person) study is possible only if the migration card states "study" as the purpose of visit and a student visa (if required) is present.
• Your full name (surname, first name, patronymic) in all notarized translations of documents into Russian must match the full name stated in your migration card or entry visa to the Russian Federation.
• Within three working days after entering the Russian Federation, you must register for migration registration.
• All foreign citizens who receive education at Russian universities, arrived in the Russian Federation after December 29, 2021 for a period exceeding 90 days, are required to undergo fingerprinting, photography, and medical examination at one of the medical institutions in Moscow (Federal Law No. 274‑FZ of July 1, 2021; Order of the Ministry of Health No. 1079n of November 19, 2021; Decree of the Moscow Government No. 1517‑P of September 28, 2021).
• The review of documents / enrollment of foreign citizens (from non‑visa countries) applying for part‑time study is possible only if the migration card states "study" or "work" as the purpose of visit, and a student or work visa (if required) is present.
• Enrollment of foreign citizens applying for part‑time study when the migration card states "work" as the purpose of visit is possible only if a valid work permit (patent) is held (if required – Federal Law No. 115 "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation").

Effective September 1, 2026, amendments to migration legislation come into force – a mandatory registration procedure is introduced for citizens arriving from countries with a visa‑free entry regime (hereinafter – CIS countries), to be carried out through specialized software – the "AMINA" mobile application (basis: Federal Law No. 121‑FZ of May 23, 2025).

The introduction of this module is aimed at ensuring efficient data management of international students and minimizing the risks of their violating migration registration deadlines upon arrival for studies at RUDN University.

As of September 1, 2026, the migration registration procedure will be fully transitioned to a digital format.

This procedure is strictly mandatory for citizens of the following countries:

• Armenia
• Azerbaijan
• Georgia
• Kazakhstan
• Kyrgyzstan
• Moldova
• Tajikistan
• Ukraine
• Uzbekistan

Students holding a paper registration document who do not install the mobile application and fail to submit an application 30 working days prior to the expiration of their documents will not be able to extend their migration registration through the University. For the category of international students who entered Russia after September 1, 2026, there is a 30‑day period from the date of their entry to register in the application.
