Contract-Based Admission

For Bachelor’s, Specialist, and Master’s Programs:

Foreign citizens can apply for tuition-based education

April 1 – September 20, 2025 (full-time, part-time, and distance learning programs)

Additional admission deadlines:

October 31, 2025 (full-time and part-time programs)

November 25, 2025 (distance learning programs)

Processing of documents and issuance of an invitation for entry into Russia takes approximately 4 to 6 weeks.

Application for the Russian Language Institute for Russian language studies is open year-round. However, depending on the application period, students may be offered either two or three semesters of study.

Documents are accepted electronically.

Required Documents for Admission to Bachelor’s, Specialist, Master’s, Residency, or PhD Programs:

  • copy of the educational certificate (diploma/qualification) and, if required, its certified translation into Russian;
  • scanned copy of passport (or other identity and citizenship document) and, if required, its certified translation into Russian;
  • documents confirming individual achievements (e.g., awards, certificates);
  • consent for the processing of personal data;
  • copy of a medical certificate confirming the absence of medical contraindications for studying in Russia, as well as HIV/AIDS test results;
  • copies of other relevant documents, such as certificates of victory in international Olympiads or professional competitions;
  • 1 photo.

Entrance Exams for International Applicants for the 2025/2026 Academic Year Conducted Independently by RUDN University (Admission is based on competitive selection within faculties, institutes, academies, and schools.)

General Exam Scoring:

Maximum score: 100

Minimum passing score: 30

Admission Process for 2025

RUDN University will admit international students to Bachelor’s, Specialist, and Master’s programs based on a competitive selection process that includes:

1. Entrance Exams

Conducted in the form of an interview (Available in Russian or English)

2. Portfolio Evaluation (submitted by the applicant), which will consider:

  • GPA from the previous educational institution, with special emphasis on subject-specific performance relevant to the chosen field of study;
  • Participation in competitions and Olympiads in specialized disciplines;
  • Recommendations from RUDN University, public organizations, professional associations, Russian and foreign institutions, and diplomatic missions;
  • Certificate of Russian language proficiency (if applicable);
  • For Master’s programs, additional consideration will be given to the global ranking of the applicant’s previous university.
