Contract-Based Admission

Bachelor's, Specialist's, and Master's Programs

Foreign citizens may apply for fee-paying (contract) studies:
- For full-time programs: from June 20 to August 10, 2026
Document review and issuance of an invitation to enter the Russian Federation take approximately 4-6 weeks.
Applications to the Institute of Russian Language for the purpose of studying Russian may be submitted at any time; however, depending on the submission deadline, applicants may be offered either two or three semesters of study.

  Documents are accepted:
- In person
- By Russian Post
- Via the Public Services Portal (ruID)

To apply for the 1st year of Bachelor's / Specialist's / Master's / PhD programs, foreign citizens must submit the following documents:

- A copy of the educational certificate or qualification, along with a translation into Russian (if required)
- A scanned copy of the passport or other identity and citizenship document, along with a translation into Russian (if required)
- Documents confirming the applicant's individual achievements
- Consent to the processing of personal data
- A copy of a medical certificate confirming no contraindications for studying in the Russian Federation and no HIV/AIDS
- Copies of other documents — for example, proof of victories in international Olympiads or professional competitions
- 1 photo

List and Form of Entrance Examinations for the Admission of Foreign Citizens for the 2026/2027 Academic Year, Conducted Independently by RUDN University (Selection is conducted for fields of study within the faculties/ institutes/ academy/ schools)

For all entrance examinations:
- Maximum score: 100
- Minimum score: 30

In 2026, RUDN University will admit foreign citizens to Bachelor's, Master's, and Specialist's programs based on competitive selection through entrance examinations in the form of an interview (in Russian/English) and an evaluation of the portfolio submitted by the applicant.

  The following will be considered:
- Grade point average (GPA) from the previous educational institution, with special emphasis on results in core subjects relevant to the chosen field of study;
- Participation in competitions and Olympiads in specialized disciplines;
- Recommendations from academic departments of Russian/foreign universities or academic supervisors;
- Recommendations from Russian embassies/consulates abroad or foreign diplomatic missions;
- Recommendations from public organizations or associations of foreign graduates of Russian (Soviet) universities;
- Availability of a certificate confirming the level of Russian language proficiency.

For Master's programs, in addition to the documents listed above, the following will also be considered:
- A motivation letter;
- Academic and professional achievements confirmed by diplomas and certificates;
- The position of the applicant's previous educational institution in world rankings (if it is ranked among the TOP-500 in the ARWU, QS, or THE institutional rankings, or among the TOP-200 in the ARWU, QS, or THE subject rankings).

! Enrollment under a tuition contract will be finalized after the tuition fees have been credited to the university's account.
