Admission Process for Foreign Citizens
Foreign citizens and stateless persons applying for studies under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation are not required to take an entrance exam at RUDN University.
For foreign citizens applying for tuition-based education contracts, the document submission period begins on July 1, 2025, and ends on September 13, 2025.

Competitive Selection for Foreign Citizens
Foreign citizens and stateless persons applying for tuition-based education contracts are selected based on the results of an entrance examination in the form of a portfolio competition.
The university establishes the following portfolio elements and evaluation criteria:
Evaluation Criteria (Individual Achievements) and Points
1. Grade Point Average (GPA) from the previous level of education, including profile subjects:
5.0 – 45 points
4.5–4.9 – 40 points
4.0–4.4 – 35 points
3.5–3.9 – 30 points
2. Academic and extracurricular achievements (certificates, diplomas, etc.) – 5 points
3. Language proficiency certificate – 10 points
4. Participation in competitions/olympiads for foreign citizens (only one status is considered):
Winner – 10 points
Prize-winner – 5 points
5. Motivation letter – 10 points
6. Volunteer work in the healthcare sector – 10 points
7. Position in university rankings of the applicant’s previous institution – 5 points
8. Recommendations (or equivalent documents) from educational institutions, public organizations, associations, Russian diplomatic missions, foreign embassies, etc. – 5 points
Applicants must submit electronic copies of documents confirming their portfolio evaluation results.Individuals who hold a higher medical and/or pharmaceutical education degree are eligible to enroll in residency training programs.
Admission is subject to the qualification requirements for medical and pharmaceutical professionals as established by the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation dated May 2, 2023, No. 206n, “On Approval of Qualification Requirements for Medical and Pharmaceutical Professionals with Higher Education” (registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on June 1, 2023, registration No. 73677, as amended by Order No. 72n dated February 19, 2024).

No, international applicants and stateless persons who have obtained their medical education in the Russian Federation are not required to provide an accreditation certificate when applying for residency training, whether on a government-funded or tuition-based basis.
Residency training at RUDN University is conducted in Russian.
If you do not speak Russian, you will need to complete a one-year Russian language preparatory course before starting your residency program.
Generally, international residents are provided with dormitory accommodation.
The cost of accommodation depends on the living conditions and is not included in the tuition fee.
International residents enrolled in state-funded (budget) residency programs receive a monthly scholarship of 10,530 RUB throughout the entire period of their studies.
